Another "10 Questions Interview" Session today! This time we will be diving into the Indie/Alt Pop genre! We had a great time interviewing today's artist. Check below our 10 questions with YSL!

When did you start doing music and how was your childhood?

I grew up in Philadelphia and honestly it was rough. My family and I lived in a beat up house where nothing worked and sometimes food was nonexistent. Mix that with all of my health issues and that my mom knew I needed something to get out of my head. So when I was nine she got me my first acoustic and I played it ever since and music has been my escape. I'm lucky that my mom saw that in me I feel because most people don't have that.

What's the best thing you got from one of your parents?

I'd have to say I got my personality/heart from my mom. I've always looked up to her and respected how she looks out for others more than herself.

What's your current dream?

Besides the obvious music thing I just want to be happy honestly

What is your creative process like?

Be free. For me personally I get the most ideas when I'm allowed to just go. Creativity shouldn't be in a box I feel although I completely understand time is often times of the essence. Forcing something won't get you the results you're looking for.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I wish everyone was more honest, I'm not even in the industry fully yet but I've noticed a lot of artists are looking out for themselves

What is your favourite song to perform?

FWPS, I've only done small shows but I feel after a slow song like "Loud" that I usually open with it gives a nice change of pace and really gets the crowd into it

What's your favourite thing to do in your free time?

Game!!! Haha music and gaming are my go to's when it comes to chilling out and winding down. Fun Fact - I used to stream on twitch

You have been air played in one of the biggest radios on earth, who would you call first to tell the news? why?

My mom 100% she always believed in me even when I really didn't so sh'll always be my #1

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

I don't think much differently honestly, just look for ways to be happy. I'll always have music no matter whether it was my main source of income or not I just have to figure out the rest of the life stuff.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

I gotta lot of music coming up so stay tuned!!!

Message from the artist.

My first studio album Feels Like I'm Gone will be out on 7/30/2021!!! Give it a listen if you get a chance and let me know what you think.

"I purchased a month of radio and air play pitches. I ended up getting picked up by 20 radio stations and got invited to do 2 interviews! My song play stats have almost doubled now and I've gotten a lot of healthy exposure. Next time I have a single I want to spread to the masses, I am working with Indiependency again."
